I recently tried to post a couple of things to hc_bingo
that were rejected because on the warnings for 'Heterocurious', the fic about Dean getting sex-changed then sleeping with Crowley
, I warned for 'het sex'. I asked the mods why this was and was just told it was in the rules that they didn't allow warnings for het and slash. Again, I asked why.We don't allow warnings for het or slash, because heterosexual and homosexual relationships are not something that need to be warned for.
I'm not sure how I feel about this. I'm bisexual and enjoy both homosexual and heterosexual attractions. But I don't generally enjoy het stories, for reasons I have trouble defining. And in the rules for the comm it asks you to warn as thoroughly as possible. I mean, is it prejudiced to want to know what you're going to be reading? Maybe it is. I'm not sure. I wouldn't want anyone reading my fic and not being prepared for slash (or in this rare case, het). Maybe I can put it in the summary instead, I didn't ask that...
