But yeah, Sheffield was fun. [livejournal.com profile] himedark drove a bunch of us up on the Friday. There was a bit of traffic, but we were there and settled by 3pm. Then the drinking started. It went on until 3am, which was fine at the time. Saturday morning, not so fine. Went to bed around 4am, woken up to go get breakfast at 7.30am (apparently I was very scary). The first time I've ever been so hungover I got out of bed, fell over and threw up. An experience, truly. Then, we're all at Sheffield Uni, sat in their big hall while they tell geeks from all over the country what the next few days will entail, and I realised, oh shit, I'm going to throw up in the Opening Ceremony. Luckily I only threw up a little in the hall, then I made it out to the staircase (no, not an outdoors one...) Suffice to say, I didn't drink again all weekend!

The gaming wasn't too badly affected by my hangover, which says something about the quality of the games perhaps... I don't know. They were okay, but I don't think the GMs were really involving us enough. In a one-shot game, where you have a limited time frame, you can't wait for players to find the story. It has to find them and kick them in the face. I didn't place anywhere in my category, but considering I spent an hour (or two) with my face on the table on Saturday morning, I'm not really surprised! Our University Game Society came third place overall, out of over twenty societies, which is good! We're consistently in the top three, which is good for our gaming reputation, must be said!

Sheffield is also an interesting place. I was pleasantly surprised, not knowing anything about it beforehand. Anyway, I'm off to carry on reading what I've missed.

So last night the Games Society had our Halloween Social. We dressed up as Star Wars characters, I went as Mara Jade. It was fun. Never seen Vader dance to classic rock before.

Still working on that Cable/Deadpool fic, though I've abandoned my first idea in favour of a PWP that's almost done (I had a 2hr seminar on a book I hadn't read, I had to do something with the time.)

I've joined a comm devoted to writing forty ficlets on a certain pairing each. I was torn between Xander/Spike and Tommy/Merton but I think I'm gonna go with Tommy/Merton because they reckon there isn't enough of it.
I'm going home tommorow! I can't wait!
And I got my essay done, 2141 words, so I packed this morning so I can go to the Geek quiz tonight. Our Game Society is holding a quiz for all the geeks. Should be fun. We have to beat De Montfort!
Everything's coming up Sarky, yay!
